Be diligent to know the state of your flocks,
And attend to you herds.
Are you among the 20,000 who pledged to “Live Green” towards more sustainable lifestyles?
If you are, that’s great! If you are wondering, “What’s that?” then you should consider pledging to “Live Green” in efforts to save wildlife.
Doing so, you are committed to deny your ‘exotic’ cuisine need and refuse to partake endangered wildlife in your meals. And the great news in protesting such pleasures? You’ll be helping to conserve healthy marine and forest ecosystems, hence protecting our food, freshwater and other ecological services; and in the end of the day, preserving our well-being.
Mother Earth is a gift to us, likewise the resources that come along freely to keep the ecosystem in balance. Hence, we cannot, we must not, allow irresponsible consumption to exhaust our natural resources.
It is a cycle. If we lose these endangered species; the chain-link will be broken and ultimately, we are the ones who will suffer the most.
Of course, what is 20,000 pledges out of over 28.73 million Malaysians?
That’s why more awareness efforts among public is necessary to reduce the demand for endangered species parts which justifies illegal wildlife trade. By conserving our wildlife, which reflects a healthy forest and marine ecosystems, we protect our livelihoods, food and water supply. Ultimately, this effort secure our good quality of life and our children’s possible future.
